Do I need a sales tax permit to start?
You can build and preview your store without one. Whether you need to register to collect sales tax depends on where your business is, where your buyers are and how much you sell into each state. AjVik calculates sales tax at checkout and reports what you collected; you or your accountant file the returns. Ask your accountant if you are unsure.
Is 45 minutes realistic?
It is the path we design and test for: a first store with a few products, payments, shipping and a published storefront. If you have hundreds of products or want custom pages, plan for more time, or import your catalog from a spreadsheet.
Is there a free plan?
There is no free-forever plan. Every plan starts with a 7-day trial with no card needed, and your trial store can go live and take real orders on a free .shop.ajvik.com address. The trial covers 1 store, 50 products and 1 team member. We ask for a card only when you first send a bulk email or WhatsApp campaign, publish to a marketplace, connect an ad account or go past the trial AI allowance. Starter is $29 a month.
What happens when the trial ends?
If you do not pick a paid plan, your store goes read-only. Nothing is deleted, and you can reactivate it within 30 days by choosing a plan.
Where does my customers’ money go?
Card, wallet and ACH payments run through AjVik Payments, powered by Stripe, and pay out to your bank account. PayPal payments go to your own PayPal account. Stripe charges its standard processing fees, and a platform fee applies to payments through AjVik Payments: 2.5% on Starter, 2.0% on Growth and 1.5% on Pro. PayPal orders carry no AjVik platform fee.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes. Start on a free .shop.ajvik.com address and connect your own domain from Starter upwards. You add one A record at your domain provider, and HTTPS is set up automatically.
