Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2, 2026
This policy explains how AjVik ("we", "us") handles personal information when you visit ajvik.com, create an account, or use the AjVik platform. It is written for the United States first, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA"), and also covers the GDPR and other local laws where they apply.
Two kinds of data
- Seller data — information about you and your business when you sign up for AjVik. We decide how this is used, and this policy covers it.
- Shopper data — information about your customers that your store collects. You control this data and are responsible for your own store's privacy notice; we act as your service provider and process it only on your instructions to run your store.
What we collect
In the last 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information, directly from you, from your use of the Service, and from services you connect:
- Identifiers and account details: name, email, phone number, password (stored only as a secure hash), IP address and login activity.
- Business and commercial information: store name, business address, tax ID, your plan, invoices, payment status and the payment or carrier accounts you choose to connect.
- Payment information: card and bank details are handled by our payment processor, Stripe, and are not stored by us.
- Internet and device activity: pages visited, features used, device and browser type, used for security and to improve the product.
- Communications: messages you send us for support.
We do not collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you.
How we use it
- To provide, secure and support your AjVik account and store.
- To bill your subscription and send invoices and service emails.
- To detect fraud and abuse and keep the platform safe.
- To improve our product using aggregated, de-identified information.
- To send product news, only where you have agreed. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-outs as the CAN-SPAM Act requires.
Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only to service providers who help us run AjVik — for example cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing and AI model providers — under contracts that limit their use of it, and when required by law. Features you turn on (such as a shipping carrier, Instagram, WhatsApp, SMS or a marketplace) will share the data needed to make that feature work.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the last 12 months, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Where it is stored and for how long
AjVik uses cloud infrastructure, and your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. We keep data while your account is active and for as long as needed for legal, tax and accounting obligations afterwards, then delete or de-identify it.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your personal information and withdraw consent. Most of this can be done from your account settings; otherwise email us and we will respond within the time the law requires (45 days under the CCPA).
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to:
- Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we disclose it to.
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of; if that ever changes, we will update this policy and add a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link first.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We use it only as the CCPA allows without that right applying.
- Not be discriminated against for using any of these rights.
To make a request, email info@ajvik.com with the subject "Privacy request". We will verify your identity by matching the details you give us against our records, usually by confirming through your account email. You may use an authorized agent; we will ask for proof of their authority. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out request.
Residents of other states with consumer privacy laws, such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and Texas, can make the same requests in the same way. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond to the appeal within the time your state's law requires.
If you are a shopper at a store built on AjVik, please contact that store first; it controls your data and we will help it respond.
Children
AjVik is a service for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Cookies
This website uses only essential browser storage (for example, to remember your light or dark theme and your motion setting). It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The AjVik console uses cookies needed to keep you signed in securely.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to people who need it, and each seller's data is isolated from every other seller's.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page and, for significant changes, tell you by email.
